With the warmer seasons approaching, as well as the end of the year, many people start planning their trips to enjoy the holidays, vacations and even the end of year parties on the beaches of our Brazil. 

The Brazilian coastline is over 7,000 km long and is full of beaches that welcome tourists at different times of the year, but more frequently during the warmer months (usually from September to April). 1 – Start with planning 

Just like anywhere else, planning is essential! Start planning even if your travel date is still far away, so you will have time to save and calmly analyze how much you will spend on average on each activity. Once you know how much you will spend, it becomes much easier. Get organized! This way, you will avoid financial surprises when you arrive at your destination. 

Your planning should also take into account the date of the trip, how many people will be traveling with you, how many days you will be staying there, and other information ranging from accommodation to extra money that should be saved in case of emergencies. 

When traveling to regions such as the Northeast, Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul and other cities that offer tour packages, try to buy them in advance. They double in price, causing you to spend more than planned. 

By purchasing in advance, you can also compare prices with peace of mind and do not have to agree on a price with the company for short-term job offers.

2 – If possible, rent a property 

Of course, if we are thinking about practicality, staying in a hotel is much more advantageous, however, depending on the type of trip, it can be much more expensive. One of the most expensive parts of your beach vacation will be your accommodation. Fortunately, there are many ways to save money on this aspect of your trip. Instead of booking an expensive hotel room on the beach, opt for renting a house or renting a room through AirBnB.

You end up having a lot of options when planning your vacation. For example, you can rent from local real estate agencies or directly from the owners. 

However, you need to be careful. While these sites provide a wealth of information, you want to make sure you know everything about the property. Your vacation home to ensure that the accommodation will suit your family as well.

3 – Buy the groceries

Food can also end up being one of the most expensive items on your beach trip, especially if you have a large family, as the cost of eating out can be very expensive in these cases. 

The tip here is to take as many groceries as possible to save money. This tip is especially valid for those who are staying in places with access to a kitchen. 

You should definitely stock up on most of the supplies you need before heading to the beach. The only exception is groceries, which you can buy at a local supermarket upon arrival at your destination’s coastal town. Beach shops are set up on the beach to catch unprepared tourists. If you prepare in advance, you can avoid spending your money on expensive items.

When we spend the day at the beach, practically 100% of the time we come across sweets, snacks, cookies, ice cream, sandwiches and fried foods that, in addition to being very expensive, are not good for our health. 

Our advice is to bring some chopped fruit in a cooler, natural snacks and a few bottles of water. These items are not a meal replacement, but they are a great option for a nutritious and much more affordable snack.

4 – Try to travel in the low season

It’s not always possible to choose the low season to travel, but if it’s feasible for you, travel to less-traveled destinations at this time of year. Everything tends to be cheaper in the low season: from plane tickets to the snacks and drinks you order on the beach. 

Traveling in the low season not only saves you less money, but also allows you to make the most of your destination and avoid the crowds and huge queues that form for tours and restaurants between December and February.

5 – Share the costs

Would you like to go on a beach vacation for the lowest possible cost? The secret is to choose a property to rent for a group of people or a family. But edible. Of course, you shouldn't invite just anyone on your trip. 

Instead, politely discuss the rules with your guests, how to split the cost of other supplies, and how the rooms in the property are divided. Vacation rentals are a great way to save money while traveling, and if you split them up, the savings can be even greater. 

6 – Avoid unnecessary purchases and expenses 

Everyone wants to have good memories of their travels, and that’s totally understandable. Just don’t commemorate your trips by buying souvenirs. They’re expensive and won’t do you much good. 

They either break or end up as gifts for family members. Instead, take a few photos along the way. Instead of just keeping them in your phone storage forever, print them out and place them around your house. These memories mean so much more than a keepsake that often may not have any use. 

In some tourist destinations, items that are part of the local culture and other items you may need, such as swimwear, hats, and sunscreen, may be priced higher than average. Before you buy, always ask yourself if you really need them so that you don't end up spending money that could be saved. 

Going to the beach is a much-awaited moment for the whole family, so don't risk too much in exchange for stratospheric discounts, but always be on the safe side: investing a little more can often save you a big headache on your trip.
